How does Yatan Yoga differ from other yoga books?
Yatan Yoga is not simply a yoga books to use to gain a more flexible body. Of course this is one of its benefits but it can also help you deepen your yogic practice and expand your understanding of the many levels on which it works.
Yatan Yoga is written by a yogi who has over 40 years of personal experience through his own practice and the teaching of his students.
I am new to yoga and this style sounds quite complex. Is it for me?
Yatan Yoga is written in a way that covers yoga for beginners to yoga for the advanced student, where all yoga practitioners can gain benefit and insight.
If you are a less experienced yoga practitioner then you should simply start from the beginning with the warm-up section and sun salutation chapters. As your practice begins to become established you will naturally move on to further levels of postures and pranayama. With this your bodily channels will open and your understanding of the yogic concept will deepen naturally.
As a beginner in the early stages there is no need to be concerned with all the elements covered in this book. Simply carry out your practice to the best of your ability and the benefits will be achieved. It can be likened to taking a multi vitamin tablet daily. Most people do not know exactly what each vitamin will do for their body but they take it anyway knowing and trusting that it will be of value to them.
For the more experienced yoga practitioner the subjects of Vedic Astrology and Tantra can be utilised in your practice. From reading the relevant chapters in the book you can discover how each of these is influencing your life and learn techniques to use during your practice to enhance or counteract them. This will undoubtedly add a further level to your understanding, experience and outcome of your yogic life.
I am a busy person. What if I don’t have enough time to do a full yoga session?
There is a section outlining shorter practice programs ranging from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours. Each program is complete in itself and will provide benefit to the practitioner for yoga in daily life.
