Ayurvedic Treatment In Preparation For Conception

When we are considering how best to prepare for conception it is helpful to think about the way in which a farmer prepares his soil for the growth of seed. Before the seed can be sown it is essential to weed the land and to ensure that it is suitably fertile.

There is no better way to prepare the body than by means of the Ayurvedic system of Panchakarma. this provides a comprehensive range of purification techniques to ensure that the digestive system, together with the respiratory and reproductive organs, are all completely detoxified to provide a clean and healthy environment for fertilization. Herbal medicines are used as required and the diet is carefully addressed. This is the perfect time to restore balance to the system, even if there do not appear to be any specific problems, and also to attend to any issues such as menstrual irregularities, in which case herbs can be used to detoxify the uterus. Ayurveda sees a need for Pitta to be balanced, as for example if the temperature is low this could be indicative of low thyroid function, which can affect the pregnancy.

Preparing the way to a healthy conception is a far better option than waiting until pregnancy is confirmed before taking any positive action. It is one of the safest ways of ensuring that the pregnancy will be a healthy one and that the child will be free of problems in its early years.
