Can Ayurvedic medicine be taken at the same time as pharmaceutical medicine?
Yes, Ayurvedic medicine can usually be taken alongside pharmaceutical medicine. However, our practitioner will always consider any medications you’re currently taking before recommending Ayurvedic treatments. For some lifestyle-related health issues, Ayurvedic treatment may help bring your body back into balance over time. This can sometimes lead to a gradual reduction in your pharmaceutical medicine dosage. Always make any adjustments under the guidance of your medical practitioner, as it depends on your specific condition.
Can Ayurvedic medicine help after a course of pharmaceutical medicine has been taken?
Yes, Ayurvedic medicine can help ease the aftereffects of pharmaceutical treatments. It works best when combined with Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle changes recommended by your practitioner. This holistic approach supports your body’s recovery and helps restore balance.
Are there any side effects to Ayurvedic medicine and treatments?
What are the Ayurvedic remedies made from?
Ayurvedic preparations utilize a unique blend of herbs and minerals sourced from the rich flora of the Indian subcontinent. After a personalized consultation, Raman Das customizes these traditional herbs to meet your specific health needs.
These herbs come from the whole plant and are finely powdered for optimal absorption. To enhance their effectiveness, they are mixed with an anupana—such as honey, milk, warm water, juice, or ghee—which activates their properties and improves absorption in the body.
How much time does it take to feel the effects of ayurvedic preparations, dietary advice and life style changes?
The time it takes to feel the effects varies by individual, typically ranging from one to six weeks, with chronic cases taking longer to balance the doshas. During this time, you can expect noticeable changes in symptoms and improvements in your physical and emotional well-being. With each consultation, you’ll progressively feel better—experiencing reduced symptoms, increased energy, and enhanced skin texture for a healthier appearance.

What conditions can be treated by Ayurveda?
Ayurveda can effectively address various chronic, recurring, and seasonal disorders that arise from imbalances in the doshas. The primary goal of Ayurvedic treatment is to restore overall health by balancing these doshas, rather than just alleviating symptoms.
Common signs of dosha imbalances include:
- Pitta: Skin disorders, allergies, boils, a burning sensation during urination, impatience, and frequent anger.
- Vata: Headaches, joint pain, mental instability, confusion, insomnia, anxiety, and indigestion.
- Kapha: Coughs and colds, mucus buildup, constipation, low energy, and oversleeping.

How does Ayurveda help with beauty and skin care?
Our Centre provides a wide range of Ayurvedic products and preparations for both internal consumption and external application, aimed at benefiting everyone. For those experiencing dry skin, our specialized formulations are designed to enhance the production of mucilaginous substances in the body, balance skin lubricants, and detoxify the body’s channels, leading to softer, more supple skin that you can feel confident in. We also offer an array of skin creams and Vata-balancing oils specifically formulated to address dry skin concerns. According to Ayurvedic principles, dry skin is often associated with Vata imbalances in the digestive system, which is why our internal medications focus on restoring this balance.
Additionally, our Ayurvedic herbal combinations are effective in promoting the health and radiance of your skin, hair, and nails, making them suitable for everyone. Often, a person’s beauty is enhanced by Ayurvedic preparations prescribed for another condition, which can have an indirect effect on the skin, hair, and nails.
How is Ayurvedic body type dietary advice different to the Blood Group type diet?
The Ayurvedic diet is based on your body type and your individual needs whereas the blood group type diet is based on your blood type. The Ayurvedic diet can be adjusted according to your state of health, the season, your stage of life, any imbalances due to the fluctuations of the different elements in your body; whereas the blood group diet will always remain the same in any condition.
Eg. Your blood group might indicate that eating meat is very good for you. But in the case of an illness such as jaundice, your body is too weak to digest this kind of heavy food. In an Ayurvedic diet this is taken into consideration and the right kind of diet and foods will be prescribed to you to support your digestive system and your wellbeing.
How is Ayurvedic body type dietary advice different to Western nutritional advice?
The Ayurvedic diet is tailored to your individual Ayurvedic Body Type (Dosha) and personal needs, while Western nutritional advice focuses on identifying and correcting nutritional deficiencies in the body. In Ayurveda, addressing deficiencies takes into account your constitutional type, the nutritional content of food, and your capacity to absorb nutrients. It emphasizes that some foods may not be suitable for certain body types or specific health issues.
For example, individuals with a Vata constitution may be aggravated by cold foods, drinks, and gas-producing foods such as kidney beans. They are best balanced by warm foods, including soups, warm beverages, spicy dishes, and ginger.
Similarly, someone suffering from a skin allergy or eczema would be advised to avoid citrus, sour, spicy, and salty foods.
In cases of diarrhea, the Western nutritional approach might recommend increasing meat consumption to address iron deficiency. However, Ayurveda recognizes that, in such a weakened state, the body may struggle to digest heavy foods like meat. Instead, Ayurveda would suggest alternatives that provide the same nutritional benefits but are easier to digest.
How should I prepare for my treatment?
Treatments may include Ayurvedic Massage, Shirodhara, Panchakarma or Yoga Therapy. No specific preparation is required, unless advised by the practitioner.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and remove any jewellery that may interfere with your treatment.
