YATAN HOLISTIC AYURVEDIC CENTRE - YATAN YOGA ONLINE COURSE

What makes this course unique?

There is no shortage on the Internet of Yoga and Ayurveda courses, many of which are no doubt of excellent quality, but by their very nature they tend to be uni-directional. Those who pass through can take with them a Yoga teacher’s qualification or a degree in Ayurveda and this can lead to a job for life. The Yatan Yoga course, however, does not attempt to compete with any other course already available; in fact, it goes much further.

Since my early years I have been absorbed in the study of Yoga, Ayurveda, Tantra, Astrology and Naturopathy. As I delved deeper into each of these practices I came to realise how each one complements the others, and it soon became clear that in combination they could provide a complete blueprint for a totally healthy life – physically, mentally and spiritually. No single practice, taken in isolation, could possibly offer such a promise. In this way my brainchild, Yatan Yoga, came into being and I was inspired to set up the Yatan Holistic Ayurvedic Centre.

The Centre has enjoyed great success and gained a loyal following from people who are much more interested in maintaining permanent good health through a preventive approach, than in treating illness after it has arisen.

I feel that it is now time to pass on my experience to society, and what better way than to teach other practitioners to follow in my footsteps?

What are the benefits to be gained from this course and who can take part?

This is not a degree course, although everybody who achieves a satisfactory standard in their assignments will receive a certificate at the end. It is designed to be of benefit to anyone, from an individual who simply wishes to change their life for the better to an experienced Yoga teacher or other qualified health practitioner such as a herbalist or naturopath who would like to acquire a broader perspective of good health. Anyone who completes the course successfully will be in a powerful position to help others, even if only family and friends, to achieve greater wellness. You may of course progress to studying for a degree in the subject, when the practical experience gained will be of enormous value.

What materials are required?

The two books, ‘Yatan Yoga’ and ‘Yatan Yoga Therapy’ between them contain all the information that is required to complete the course. The coursework is predominantly practical and focuses strongly on case studies so before embarking on the course we would ask you to be prepared with nine volunteers, split into three groups of three. For the purpose of the assignments we will refer to these as Groups A, B and C. For Group A look for individuals of completely differing constitutional types, for Group B people with very different occupations, and for Group C volunteers who are suffering with varying chronic health conditions. Although it would be possible for any one volunteer to belong to more than one group it would be preferable in the interest of experience to avoid such overlap.

What is the timetable?

The course is designed to be completed within 9 months (1 month between each assignment) but you may wish to return your work more quickly. As soon as a completed assignment is received it will be assessed and the next instalment will be forwarded to you. If your circumstances make it difficult to complete the course in the suggested timeframe you can request an extension.

Is there any backup after the course is completed?

After completion of the course and receipt of the certificate participants will always be able to contact us online with questions or for advice on specific issues.

Does the course qualify for CPD?

As participants will vary widely in the time they spend on studying for this course, depending on their ultimate objectives, it would not be practicable to specify a number of CPD hours. We would therefore ask you to maintain a record of time spent on reading, writing and case studies so that this can be registered and verified on your certificate at the end of the course.
