The Many Benefits Of The Neti Pot

Nasal cleansing with the Neti pot has been a traditional part of the yogic system for thousands of years, but recent scientific knowledge enables us to understand much more clearly the many benefits of this practice. The nasal passages are lined with millions of cells which are connected to the brain, enabling it to maintain contact with the outside. However, these passages are also lined with hairs which help to prevent airborne agents such as dust, bacteria and viruses from penetrating deeply into the respiratory tract. During the night, the body’s natural detoxification processes produce a large amount of mucus which, if not removed, solidifies within the nasal membranes causing the brain to lose Its essential contact with the outside. Not only do the sinuses become blocked but the eyes, the ears, the sense of taste and the memory and intelligence can be affected. Nasal polyps can also become a problem.

The traditional Ayurvedic practice of nasal cleansing utilises rock salt in the Neti pot, Following which herbal drops are used to seal and maintain the membranes.

Our Yatan  Neti pot  available from our online shop, has been specially designed for ease of use and cleaning and should form part of everybody’s daily cleansing routine.
